Listen, Raven

Beastboy sat down on top of Titan Tower. He closed his eyes and listened to the sweet sounds of night in Jump City-the relaxing ocean water, the light chatter of people, the birds singing joyful night songs. He came here every night just to be reminded that Earth is a special place. He was about to fall into a peaceful sleep when someone interrupted him. "What are you doing up here?"

"Oh, uh....Raven! I didn't expect to see you here. Maybe I should go back to my room." He jumped to his feet and started towards the door.

"Wait," said Raven. "I asked you a question."

"Oh, yeah. I was just...uh, making sure the city was safe. Well, it looks pretty safe to me. So I guess I'll leave now." But he stood still, knowing Raven would shoot more questions at him.

"Beastboy, didn't you stop to think about the fact that if the city was in danger, the alarm would go off?" Raven questioned.

Beastboy rubbed his neck. He didn't have an excuse. "Raven, if I tell you something, would you promise not to tell anyone else?"

"Sure, knock yourself out." She put her hands on her hips. Beastboy walked a little closer to Raven.

"And I mean nobody! I swear, if I wake up in the morning, and anyone asks me about it, you'll be sorry!" He threatened.

"You're right. I will." said Raven with a smirk painted on her face.

"Ok, I come here every night, because I need a little comfort. You know how meditating comforts you? Well, this comforts me. I love to just sit here at night and here all the sounds. Raven, I could circumnavigate the world and never find a place like Jump City." Beastboy was embarrassed, but it felt good to get it off his chest.

Raven stared at him. "Circumnavigate? Have you been reading a dictionary?"

Beastboy looked disappointed. "Will you show me?" Raven asked. This surprised Beastboy. "Yeah, sure. Sit down." They both sat down facing each other with their legs crossed. "Now close your eyes." They did. "Now just listen."

They sat there for a while before they grabbed each others hands. Finally, they opened their eyes and laid down. Beastboy wrapped his arms around Raven. "Rae, how did you know?" Beastboy asked. "It's Raven, and how did I know what?" she asked.

"How did you know I'm in love with you?"

"I didn't."
