Shut your ears tight child,
You cannot know what you cannot hear.

Close your eyes so that the world turns black.
Scream so loud you can't hear what they say.
If you think,

They cannot see how afraid you are.

Dead on the inside,

The laughter fills you outside,

Until you drown in the happiness around you,
Yet you cannot feel it at all.

I cannot do this anymore.
I hold on by barely a thread.
I am not strong enough.
I'm in a battle with life,
And it is winning.
And yet I brave a smile.

I feel so hopeless on the inside.
So jealous watching those around me.
