I don't get it

I don't get why people always say
That I'm so "poetic"...
They just don't get that if I say
"Hey! I don't write it that way!"
They think they know everything about me
But can they see
That it's conflicting
And that it's ticking
Me off?!
I don't know why I write this way
I have nothing to say
About the style of it all
My music is who I am
They just don't give a damn!
They see me and think
Who is that?
Is that a rat?
But there is something I'd like to say to that!
i am who I am
For what I choose to be
So get out of my sight or begone!
They always say
"Look at that pile of trash
Sitting on a bunch of cash!"
But they can't see that they are the trash
And they just have a wallet full of cash
But there are some
That remember the time of fun
Being done
Exactly the same way
As they say,
History repeats itself....
