Answers the question, "Who Am I?"
"Who are you?" There's a question I'm asked a lot,
I can't really say, all I can say is what I'm not.
I'm not someone who puts others down.
I don't like to see other people frown.
I'm not someone who listens to rap,
I'm not a gangsta or someone with a sideways cap.

Who am I, really? I want to know now.
Am I a fighter? No, I don't know how.
Am I a teacher? I could see myself as one.
As someone who helps students do what needs to be done?
Am I a good brother? Who helps his siblings when they need it?
Or am I just someone who yells at them to sit?

Boy, I really want to know who I am
Recognizing who I am, that's my plan.
I'm not sure what to do, I can't answer "Who are you?"
All I can say is, "I can't say for sure." That's the truth.
Nevertheless, I CAN say, I'm a poet named Brian.
