Well. This pretty much sums up all the bad crap that happened to me.
Has your opinion ever fallen upon deaf ears?
Or do they just not want to hear?
To hear their beliefs shattered
And see their world crumble around them
Just listen, I beg of you
Plead with all my heart.
Don’t cage me like this
Like a broken-winged bird
Don’t you see me long for the outside
*
Do you ever regret it?
Regret changing so fast
For the worse
As I was changing for you?
I admitted my mistake
And promised to make it better.
But again I fell on deaf ears and blind eyes
And apparently, a stone heart.
Oh, how I loved to be held by you
Just to close my eyes and breathe you in
Those moments were of total happiness
But then you had to change
*
Do you feel remorse at all?
Do my screams still echo in your ears?
Can you still see tears pouring down my face?
Can you feel that hard leather strap in your hand?
Can you remember me begging you to stop?
Did you hear me at all, even as you hit me?
Or did my pleas fall on deaf ears once again?
What did I do wrong?
I’m not perfect, but I did not think I deserved welts.
*
Do you even realize what you’re doing?
Do you not see it on my face?
How much it pains me to live your way?
Do you feel me aching to escape?
Did you hear me cry countless times
Because of my lack of freedom?
All because of you.
You don’t understand it
You think just like the rest of them
How it saddens me;
The way you think what you’re doing is right.
*
Oh, but do you hear it?
Do you smell it?
Can you feel it?
That rain upon your face.
Everything is not bad,
As long as we have rain.
Watch those beautiful slate-grey clouds
Floating around the sky
Promising us a clean earth, soon enough.
