Shdowyn AODE chapter 2

During a couple of days the gang was traveling headed to the Valkyrie mountains.They were already climbing the mountain, talking happily as they walked.
"So I said go to hell freakin dwarf, you are drunk" said Amix making a funny face
"Dwarfs sound like big trouble when you talk about them Amix" Wilf observed
"They are when not in bed..."Amix replied, having as a result a loud laughter from his companions. Suddenly they stopped and scanned the area with their eyes.
"You all heard it right?" Amix said alarmed, everyone agreed silently. The sound was heard again and the gang pinted their weapons at the source. Their faces got red as they felt ashamed from their paranoia;it was only a lizard. Everyone putted away their weapons, laughing.
"We are way to tense" Wilf commented in a merry tone
"Nah, tense is for normal people: we are already neurotic" Shadowyn laughed. Then he turned to see Valmar and saw that he was preparing to kill the lizard. He was about to shoot when Shadowyn tapped te crossbow making it misfire in another direction.
"Why you... what was that all about?!?"Valmar complainned
"If Wilf deserves to live then that lizard deserves to live too.Shadowyn replied resolvedly
"What is that supposed to mean?..."asked Wilf but was interrupted as Valmar's and Shadowyn's discussion got more and more heated. They even drew their weapons, menacing each other.But they were calmed by the others, they made peace and started talking anmatedly;but not for long.Someone interrupted them with an eerie tone.
"Well, well, it seems the group has gotten a bit larger since we lastsaw each other, right my dear Valmar?" said the unknown person. They looked to the speaker and were surprised as they saw two women standing on top of a big boulder. They were incredibly beautiful, voluptuous and menacing in a provocative way. They were blonde and white, but it was a tanned white as the one that is aquired by regular exposure to the sun's warm gaze. They were quite alike, but one of them had purple eyes and the other one had blue eyes.
"Laika..."said Valmar like an almost dead man who sees it's savior
"Vanessa" said Shadowyn, his tone full of a misterious feeling
"So you remember me Valmar, I thought that you didn't remember after you left me" said the purple eyed one, her voice full of rage
"Laika you don't und..." Valmar started
"Eat your begs for mecy, traitor" she hissed
"Well Laika take it easy, will have to listen to them, after all they have no escape..." Vanessa watched Shadowyn luxuriously, practically swallowing him whole with her look
"What are you trying to say?" Shadowyn asked
"You are going to get married with me no matter what." Vanessa's voice sounded incredibly demanding considering what she was saying
"I thought you were crazy, but you've already surpassed all expectations" Shadowyn said" Let us continue our trip to the festival in the Yuik city"
"You aren't going anywhere, my dear" Laika said, whistling loudly. At this signal a group formed by several women surrounded them.
"We amazoness always have a plan B."continued Laika
"You choose the easy or the hard way..."Vanessa laughed
"Can somebody explain me what's happening here!" Wilf asked completely confused by such a situation
"Can we, Laika?" Valmar asked to the imposing amazon
"Go ahead, we will correct any detail you miss" Laika was looking at him very angry
"Well, Wilf, this situation is the unevitable aftermath of an event that ocurred sometime ago..."Amix started"It marked the beggining of my adventures with these two."
"Me and Shadowyn were passing through the amazoness territory, we heard cries"Valmar pointed
"Those were my cries, I was there to have an affair with an amazonees warrior to place in my book"Amix continued
"We made a plan to save him from the two indigned amazoness that were atacking him, very sexy they were, to give some details" Shadowyn said pointing to the pair of crazy amazoness
"Well the plan was raping them but they fell in love with us and, so did we" Valmar said
"Liars, you promised you would be with us!" Laika said
"Yes and you said you loved us and that it was an honest love that would last forever!"Vanessa pointed
"Right, right we love you but we weren't ready for a serious relationship"Shadowyn said
"I was, but Shadowyn convinced me to go with him"Valmar corrected
"So much like me, I was going to let you die alone away from my face but Vanessa's obsession with your pale friend convinced not to leave her alone to go on such a journey, and we love you but we shouldn't... you don't deserve it"Laika was begginig todoubt, she was visibly confused.
"We are in quite a journey, so if you would please excuse us we have better things to do than wasting our time talking about a wedding that will not occur" Shadowyn started to walk away but the amazoness blocked his path. The guys were in trouble, if they were to face normal soldiers they could defeat them in no time, but they were facing amazoness. Amazoness are well known for their short temper and swift fighting, so in this battle they were outnumbered. They had to find a way to escape, but it wasn't going to be that easy. "Lovesick women plus incredible warriors, quite an unhealthy combination". This was the thought of Amix at the precarious situation.
"As you can see we are in a clear advantage"laughed Vanessa
"Kill us if you may, but I am not getting married in about two or three years"Shadowyn said
" Talk for yourself, I do not want to die!" Wilf said, desperate at his impotence
"Right, I'll marry you Laika"Valmar said, a hint of illusion traced in his voice
"The deal is all or nothing, so I am sorry"Laika said, not because of her feelings, but for Vanessa's;she knew that if she were to marry her loved and Vanessa had to face Shadowyn's obliviousness she was going to suffer way more than she was now. "Even if I must drown in sorrow, I will have to pospone my happiness to aid my friend."she thought. Vanessa was looking at both Valmar and Shadowyn quizically.
"I just can't understand, is it that you never loved me at all... Shadowyn?"Vanessa's eyes were wet from the tears that formed in them.Shadowyn eyes grew big as platters when he heard her breaking voice." I mustn't fall, Imust maintain myself strong..." Shadowyn did loved her, but he didn't wanted to grow fond of her, of her obsesive way to love him.
"It really isn't that, it's just, just..."Shadowyn had to go away, he couldn't stayt with that.Fighting against wyverns was a light work compared to facing his feelings for anyone, this his friends knew very well but Vanessa didn't. He was looking to the ground, thinking and resolved his mind.
"I'm going, you aren't going to make this women atack us, since they would lose" Shadowyn said marching to the wall of amazoness
" Are you saying we are weak?"Vanessa said nervously, had he seen through...
"Shadowyn we are storng but these are no ordinary women, they are amazoness warriors!"Amix shouted
"They are not,is a bluff."Valmar said. Evieryone's face, including the soldiers, changed to a surprised look.
"The amazon army is very strictin it's rules and they won't give Vanessa permision to take soldiers in such a vanal expedition for so long"Shadowyn said "You made a good setup, but still, we are not so dumb"saying this he faced his companions and shouted" Let's m ove, we have a long journey still ahead!" They followed him through the women who opened the wall they formed. The four dissapeared inthe distance(not really but this was what Vanessa felt) as Vanessa's eyes filled with tears.She was destroyed by the way Shadowyn acted towards her, like if everything she saw and still could barely see in his eyes were a mere illusion of her heart playing matchmaker. He was so sweet back then when they shared the passio n of their lives(at least her life) and swore eternal love. She now knew that she neede Shadowyn, the fact that she was following him was part of what kept her alive.
Laika saw Vanessa's reaction to the events and rushed to her offering a helping hand only to be slapped away by her, who looked at her furiously
"Why did you not accept Valmar's proposal?!"
"I can't if you arenot..."
"You have denied your own hapiness for me, that is not fair for you!"
"But you are my best friend and I..."
"You nothing! I wont accept this you must be with him stop acting like that you must be happ no matter what!"
"But I cant be happy if you are sad"
"But I am sad now and if you had Valmar at least you wouldnot be so miserable, seeing you do this makes me sick!"Vanessa was talking non-sense, but she was talking the truth.
"Nobody" she continued"should suffer for anybody's problem
"You're right, but it is to late, they left"
"You make me a promise"
"Ok"
"The next oportunity, you'll grab Valmar and never let go"
"I...promise"

Further down the road, the four guys remained silent, each one absort on his thoughts.
""Man those women were hoooooot!"that and images of his imaginary make-out sessions with them were Wilf's main thought, along with some jealousy to Valmar and Shadowyn for having such nice fans, and he felt curious for why Shadowyn turned down Vanessa.Valmar was wondering why Laika said no if she was so in love with him, he came to the resolution that she did for Vanessa, after all, he left her because he couldn't leave Shad all alone. Amix was thinking about the day he knew the two that he now considered to be his best friends. He rmembered that he wrote about it on his diary and started reading with the aid of a magic light that floated alongside the owner, since it was getting dark it came quite handy that he bought that.Shadowyn was thinking that he almost showed feelings for her, he couldn't do that, not now...
The next day, they continued they're journey to the festival, at noon they saw the village, two hours or so later they finally arrived.


CHAPTER THREE:




The village was a massive compilation of folkclore and people, some of them decorating and others putting up their selling posts.
"Whoa, this is one tiring sight" Amix said with a shrug
"Good thing we are only sightseeing"Valmar added
The four men looked around in amaze. They had all traveled much but they hadn't ever seen such a wonderful sight to behold. It was a picture that would be the finest in the hands of an artist, be it a poet, novelist or painter". Suddenly a man aproached them with a broad , almost , no, completely sarcastic smile upon him.He greeted them with an imponent tone
"I am the shaman of this city, the leading one to be exact, the king has sent me to say welcome to you"
"You sure you are not mistaking us?"Valmar asked

"Very sure"he replied calmly
"Ok, guide us" Shadowyn said shortly


In short time they were guided through the city to a majestic castle in about the center of the main village
