Turning 50 made me look at my life and decide how I was going to deal with old age |
Last night I had an awful dream, I wanted to cry, I wanted to scream. There came old age flying at me, My feet were stuck I couldn't flee. She yelled, "You halt, I have some news. Your path ahead you just can't choose. Your humped over stance, your balding head. Your vision is gone, your hearing dead. Your eyes will squint and mush your chewing, While trying to read closed caption viewing. Large age spots will appear on your skin, your wrinkles and humor will start wearing thin. The sex you once had is now just your gender, Your muscles go soft, and your feelings so tender. Your hair will turn gray, it'll reach to the ends, and when it's time they'll change your depends. Your memory will fade of the days you once knew, your eyes will gloss over , your lips will turn blue. Off you will go in a hearse shiny black, in a coffin they'll lay you flat on your back. "Now aren't you happy?" said old lady age you'll at last be free from this mortal cage." I looked at her and felt quite furious, she seemed so startled and rather curious. I said, "Hey you, old someday I'll be Until that time I will be free." She stated, "Oh yes, soon you'll be dead!" I said, "Well not now!" and blew off her head. |
