"Although it was some time ago when I last saw her, I remember it like it was yesterday." I told my eldest granddaughter, her 12 year old green eyes curious already.
"Well,....." I paused, "No!! Tell me, tell me, Papa! You must!" she rushed me along as if there was no time to spare.
"Okay, where was I?"
"You weren't." She giggled.
I smiled and continued flipping throughout the book of my mind, looking where to begin, I cleared my throat, "As I walked off the boat and tasted that fresh, wild, New England air, I spotted her. She stepped out of the shadows, searching for someone to come off the ship to whisk her away, but didn't spot them. Her red hair was set in a braid that just longed to be unfurled; her green eyes entranced me, mind and soul. The sun caused freckles to pop out along her arms, chest, and cheeks. All of which were creamy white."
