If It Weren't For My Daddy

Written to be read in church on Father's Day after my mother had died and my dad remarried. It was before I reconnected with the daughter who I put up for adoption upon birth. Thus, the mention of only two children.

If It Weren't For My Daddy

If it weren't for my Daddy, I wouldn't be here at all.
If it weren't for my Daddy, I wouldn't have known my mother.
If it weren't for my Daddy, I wouldn't have met my two brothers.
If it weren't for my Daddy, I wouldn't be as pretty as I am.
If it weren't for my Daddy, I would never have come to this town. And if I hadn't come to this town, I never would have met my husband. And if it weren't for my husband, I wouldn't have my two beautiful children. And if I didn't have my two beautiful children, my life would be incomplete, but I never would know why. If it weren't for my Daddy.

If it weren't for my Daddy, I would never have gotten a second mother who loves me and my family like her own. If it weren't for my Daddy.

If it weren't for my Daddy, I would never have become part of this church. I never would have found out that God, THE FATHER of us all had a plan for mankind in general and me in particular.

If it weren't for my Daddy, I never would have come to accept God's plan for my life. And if it weren't for my Daddy, I never would have had the foundation to come back to when I strayed from God's plan for my life. If it weren't for my Daddy.

If it weren't for GOD THE FATHER, seeking out and convincing my Daddy of his need for Salvation, my Daddy would never have guided me toward finding my own Salvation by GOD my HEAVENLY FATHER. If it weren't for my Daddy.

So, on this day to honor Fathers, I have two to honor. My earthly father who provided for my every need because of a great capacity for love. And my Heavenly Father who provides for my every need because of the greatest capacity for love; who is the epitome of Perfection.

Thank you to God the Father for making it possible to say, 'If it weren't for my Daddy!'
