Written for my Grandmother after her death.
Here we all sit watching the time pass on by.
Some days I wish we could sprout wings and fly.
Lifting up through the air off to faraway lands,
To a place filled with wonders no one here understands.

A place that is free to live all of your dreams.
Where hopes never die, and freedom is really what it seems.
Where colors are made of the brightest array,
And never, not once, is there a cloudy dark day.

It's never too hot, and it's never too cold,
No one ever wishes for the good days of old.
But even more than that, it's where I'll see you again,
All my close family, and my dearest friends.

The most precious of people, I can no longer hold,
Your faces I'd see shining as pure as the gold.
Reunions would be wonderful, a joyous day indeed,
And in each others arms, we'd have all that we need.

Those long forgotten dreams will finally come true,
Especially the days and hours that we will spend with you.
Until that day comes when we can all see you once more,
Keep watching for our arrival on that distant golden shore.
