If I could name my favorite dish
I guess I'd have to say, "raw fish"
The kind that's wrapped in sticky rice
Or seaweed, and it's served on ice
It looks so pretty on the plate
This sealife that has met its fate
I first displayed my own bravado
Eating tuna served with avocado
Wrapped in something green and slick
I was certain I'd get sick
Down my throat I felt it slide
Would it come right out the other side?
Now I eat sushi all the time
Even though it looks like slime
Sometimes, though, the aftertaste
Lingers on like toxic waste
And I sometimes wonder why I eat
Food that smells like sweaty feet
It's raw, it's cold, it's Japanese
It's bounty from the seven seas
What other reason need exist?
Do I have to make a list?
Don't even try to make me break
By giving me a whiff of steak
If this poem made your stomach lurch
I do not think you're ready
To eat raw tuna, shark or perch
So, just go out and get spaghetti
Eating sushi is an art
And I heared it make u smarrt.
