It tells of a relationship gone bad. Realization that it's not always your fault.
Mental Agony

The moon and the stars are fading from the sky,
I am sitting here alone asking questions why?
Cause ever since you left me, I've never felt so free.
Cause, baby, you've released me from my mental agony.

Gentle breezes blowing right through my open door,
the world keeps on turning, but there's no reason for
Cause ever since you left me, I've never felt so free.
Cause, baby, you've released me from my mental agony

You thought that you could hurt me, and make me want to cry,
but you're the one who's wiping those tears from your eyes.
Cause ever since you left me, I've never felt so free.
Cause, baby, you've released me from my mental agony.

I thought that I would die when I looked into your eyes,
but it didn't take me long to realize,
that ever since you left me I feel so very free,
cause maybe, baby, you're the one in mental agony!

I tried to get along with you. I tried so very hard,
but you didn't even want me hangin' around your yard.
Cause ever since you left me, I feel so very free.
Cause baby you're the one who's in the mental agony!
