A poem on how people who have changed so much that they fail to recognize themselves.
THE STRANGER IN THE MIRROR
It's a stranger that the mirror has shown,
His own reflection now seems unknown.
A little bit each time as it reveals,
And with it Fame and Glory it steals.
The mirror is said never to have lied,
Then why the recognition seems to have died.
Oh no, the worst has occured,
The darker side of has overpowered.
To defend, you shall blame it to circumstances,
But it is also true you took your chances.
Oh! What shall now be done?
The better side of yours, you have abandoned.
You shall have a detailed analysis,
But you yourself are to be blamed for this metamorphosis.
You could have fallen in the trap of Greed,
Maybe you just had to differentiate him with Need.
Things now seemed to have gone beyond correction,
You have lost your own reflection.
Into the pool of darkness you splurged,
And out of the pool a stranger emerged.
Inside you there always existed the two side,
But you decided, what shall show and what shall hide.
When to the world, the stranger shall be seen,
They would regret it for the goodness that had been.
Now you wish the brighter would have survived,
But, with nourishment, to him you had deprived.
Why you ever reached this stage?
Before this, why did not you change?
But this has happened to every man's reflection.
How could this happen to God's best creation?
