Longing for India.. 1996 http://www.Writing.Com/authors/dcsagec
Sadness, a seperate reality
in eves of longing
I whisper throught the darkness for someone to hear,
but only my ears are listening.

Warriors in my fantasy
conquer lands of mystery.
I awake, and blink sun from my eyes
in some far away place
And, the air gives me wings,
makes me fly...
So from above, and fear within, I push on.
I push on.

Unknown fades with chants of beautiful dark women
smiles of curious children
and bright woven robes.

Lonliness somewhere else now
when our eyes meet.
I know you, stranger.
We have met on the beaches of Vietnam,
We have danced in ritual 'round fires
deep on African plains
We have passed on dusty roads,
Heard eachother's drums...
and heart-sighs.

Perhaps the rest of the world has forgotten
the spaces in which you dwell
But I can not sleep.

Through whispers in the night,
foreign songs light my darkness.
Bend our universe, Bend!
Listen-- and you will feel--
Why I have sought you in the deepest corners of this world,
in the deepest corners of my soul.

Your existance, my prophecy.
I know you.
You are me.
