Satire: The commercializing of Christmas
            A Wally-World Christmas

The memories of Christmas past came drifting back to me,
as I hung some funky baubles on my plastic Christmas tree.

Christmas ain't the same since Wal-Mart came to town,
they've strangled competition by knocking prices down.

Even old Santa knuckled under, he laid off all his elves,
anything he's gonna' need he can find on Wal-Mart's shelves.

All the toys and games, once manufactured by Tonka,
Are produced in grimey sweatshops, somewhere in Sri Lanka.

The tail wags the dog, Wal-Mart dictates the price,
wholesalers bow and scrape, not even thinking twice.

Wally-World is the Mecca, a rising retail star,
the stores are open 24/7, ready when you are.

You need a pair of shoes or socks, a movie on video?
They've got shirts, they've got jeans, all made in mexico.

How 'bout some home decor, or pajamas made of silk?
Oh, and while you're there, pick up a jug of milk.

A thousand trees must fall to plant a big box store,
it seems we're saturated, is there room for anymore?

Five acres under roof, sixty more for a parking lot,
cruise on in, the parking's free, if you can find a spot.

Sam's Club could be the answer if bulk buying is your need,
the Waltons have you covered with their patented corporate greed.
