A Single Thought ...

A wise friend once told me that you can only think one thought at a time, so if your thought is not a good thought, simply change the thought.

So simple. So profound.

I want to pay more attention to the thoughts I have. We are told whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)

I, therefore, can make the choice to simply change my thoughts. If what I am thinking is not encouraging, reassuring, calming or comforting to me, I know that it is not from the Lord. He is the One who loves me and cares for me. Yes, He will discipline me at times; however, even in the times of discipline He will do it with love.

What am I thinking? Does it reflect Him and His love for me? If not ... I am to change the thought because I can only think one thought at a time.
