A poem about the pain of losing someone close to you
The pounding is overtaking my soul, I hear it day and night. I miss you, and need you. Thoughts of why go throught my head, I still cannot begin to understand or even comprehend why. My world revolved around you, and my wrld has come to a screaching halt. The tears sting my face, as I think about the years we had together. Everday I don't think I can go on, but that little voice inside says you can do it, because you were my girl.

The sounds of the children in the background are drowning my thoughts. Will they ever know, or even understand how wonderful you were? I think about the days we spent together, and the days we did not. It wasn't enough, and my heart aches for the touch of your hand or the sound of your voice. As each day drags on I think the pain and hurt will subside, but it doesn't. I ponder if I could erase the past from my mind would the pain in the present go away? Sorrowfully I have to say yes, but then I wouldn't be me which was a part of you. Your smile lives on through your grandaughter and your love through me.
