Poem about ending relationship
I can hear it singing in my head
Begging you to let me go--
Even though I don't want you to.
I can feel it in my heart
And know I'm still a part
Of what we were.
Because I still feel you.
I feel your heart beating
Sounding like the drums of my Ancestors
Pounding like my heart does
When I think you are gone.
I need it to let me go
So I can do what I gotta do,
Even if it's without you
Even though I don't want you to go.
Because I still feel you,
I need you.

If you hear it,
Tell me.
If you feel it,
Let me know.

I feel your thoughts clicking
Sounding like the harbinger of time
Keeping my soul tied to you.
Clacking like my mind does when
I know it is you.
Reminding me of our Ancestors
Pounding their drums and Keening
Their sorrow.
Because I still feel you.

But if you let me go
I won't.
I won't hear it sing
I won't feel it in my heart
Rending me.
Taking what we were and making it
No Thing.

If you hear me
Tell me.
If you need me
Let me know.
If you don't want me,
Let me go
Even though I don't want you to.
Because I still feel you.
