One night in the rain, under blankets of news,
There lay two companions, with nothing to lose.
Two men soaked by water and sunken by shame.
Outcasts of society have no one to blame.
The sun greets the morrow. Now covered in dew,
They head for the city to beg for some brew.
After begging and battling the bombardment of sneers,
The wage for the day brings the two a few beers.
Drinking and sharing their tales of old,
They don't question why they're still out in the cold.
Back under their blankets, the rain starts to fall,
Two bums, one day, accomplished nothing at all.
