I didn't want you here that was obvious the week-end would not have been a sharing moment love comes and goes too quickly between us now so let's take some time out wait until you don't bring your office to my house, three hundred miles away it didn't used to be that way you came and went as you pleased our love was free and easily shared and we were both sad when our togetherness came to a close tearful farewells phone calls from the train well, I still call every trip you take then came the dwindling times lasted several years silence responded eagerly when your computer saw more of your eyes than I did unselfish, I muttered no hurtful words what good would they have done then or now but we have less to say, you have to admit today it's better to make an appointment my schedule has often become busy on saturdays and we tread on each other's nerves more and more to spend too much time together without quality controls no, I'll not yet send an engraved card like they do for gallery openings or premiers at the opera where we don't go anyway "in three weeks I'll be free and I'd like to do more than just think of you…" yes, it's a pity that our love has evolved into petty mundaneness I hope it won't be a quick step from imaginary cards to the mailman delivering a note saying "invitation only" invitation only 7 march, 2006 |
