Chapter 1 anything can happen
Mitchel Marshall walked into his local police station. He walked and stood outside many times before but never went in. This time he was out of choices. He walked up to a desk were a officer was talking on the phone. The officer didn't say anything and motion for Michel to sit down.
After he got off the phone he look at Mitchel and said, "Hello, I'm officer Bill Marks, what can I do for you?"
"Yes, I would like to report a missing being."
"Okay, what info. can you give me about this person?" Bill reached into his desk and pulled out a piece of paper and stated writing on it.
"She looks like, black hair, not long or short. Has tan to a little pink color to her skin, she also has on dark blue jeans, a black T-shirt, and black suede leather trench coat."
"Where was she last seen?"
"My house. I check all the places I know, were she goes, and come up with nothing, that's why I'm here. I could use all the eyes I can get."
Bill looked up from his writing, "you even check her friend's houses?"
"She has no friends."
"She has no friends, that's odd," and he keep writing.
"You have no idea how odd its going to get," Michel said under his breath.
"What's that," asked Bill?
"Nothing."
"What is her name?"
"We call her Max. She looks to be 19."
"Exactly how old is she?"
"I don't know, but old enough."
"Well, do you know when her birthday is?"
"No."
"Who is she to you?"
Mitchel looked start into the officer's eyes. "Let's skip that question."
Bill didn't even flinch, "ok, lets skip that for now and tell me, how may I reach you if we find her?"
Mitchel wrote down his number on a piece of paper and got up to leave. He stopped and turned around, "she has to be found in the next three days. If I don't find her by then or don't hear from you, don't waste your time trying to find her, she will be dead somewhere. If I do find her before you do, I'll call you." He then walked out the door.

Noon the next day, Michel came into his house and went staight to the kitchen. He made himself a sandwich and poured a glass of milk. He went up stairs into his bedroom and sat down in his lazy boy chair. He turn the TV on. The 'news at noon,' was just coming on. Somewhere in between lunch and the news Michel fell alseep.
When Michel open his eyes again, he quickly jumped up and looked at his watch. He then went down stairs and put the other half of his sandwich in the ice box and dumped out the rest of his milk. He looked at his cell phone to see if anyone had called him. No one had and he was about to walk out the door, when his house phone rang. "Please let someone had seen her," he said to himself and answer the phone.
"Hello, this is officer Bill Marks, we talked last night. I would like to ask you some questions?"
"Have you found Max?"
"No."
"I will talk to you when I find her," he then hung up the phone and left the house.
It was six in the morning when Michel walked back into his house. He had not slept good at all, in the past six days and now that today was the last day to find Max, thoughts were clouding Michel's mind. "It's been six days, were can she be? I know she will stay close to the house. How much damage has she done and can it be undone? This is the last day to find her. With the questions still in his head, he went into the bathroom and took a well needed shower. When he came out he check his answer machine and there was one message.
The first words he hear was, "we found her," that was it. Michel knew the voice was Bill Marks and he ran out of the house and speed to the police station.
When Michel got to the station he left his car park and running just outside the front doors. He ran inside and looked around the room. As just, as it was busy the other day, when Michel came in, the place was dead. There was no sine of anyone. Everyone in the station was gone. Michel walk over to the doorway were prisoners were lead to, downstairs to the holding cells. As Michel walked down the stairs, he notice how quiet it was, not a sound but his foot steps on the stairs. When he got to the bottom of the stairs he saw Max laying on the bench in one cell, and everyone else was in the other cell just staring at her. Bill was by the cell door.
Michel ran up to the cell door, were Max was in. "Max? Max? You all right?" Max did not answer. "Max," Michel yelled! There was still no answer. Michel ran up to Bill, who was now staring at him. "Where's the key," he asked? Bill just keep on staring at him. "Bill wake up," and Michel snapped his fingers and Bill shook his head and blinked his eyes.
"What happen," Bill asked as he stared to look around. "Why in the hell, are we all lock up in the cell?" He went around and tryed to shack the other officers, but for some reason he could not wake them up. All the officers would do is stand there and stare. "What's going on," Bill yelled? He went back over to the cell door and try to open it. When it didn't open, he reach in his pockets and try to find the key.
"Where's the key," Michel asked again?
"I don't know, it's not in my pockets." He pointed to the small office under the stairs, "there should be one in there."
Michel ran over to the door and try it, but it was lock.
"Is it lock," asked Bill?
"No, I think it might be stuck." Michel knew the door was lock, but he stood in front of the door, so Bill couldn't see what he was doing. Michel put his thumb to the lock and when he turn his thumb there was a small click and the door came open. "See, I told you it was stuck." He search the room and found a key. He ran out and up to Max's cell.
"What are you doing?! Don't let her out. There is something very wrong with her." Bill said.
"I got to see what's wrong with her." Michel unlock the cell door, that Max was in and then handed the key to Bill. He then ran in and look down at Max. She seem to be okay, but very weak.
After Bill unlock the cell door, he ran into Max's cell and stood by Michel. "What's wrong with her? What's wrong with my officers?"
"What happen," Michel asked, looking into Bill's eyes, then he quickly looked away.
"I was on my last round through Blue Bird Park, when I seen Max sitting on a bench. It was about three in the morning. I went up to her and asked her if she was Max. She said she was and knew you were looking for her. I told her she didn't look very well. She told me, 'I have seen better days.' I told her I would take her home, but she didn't went to go. I told her, I would take her to the station and you could come get her. She said that would be fine. I brought her down into a holding cell. She had on a pair of sunglass and I asked for them. She shook her head at me. I went over and pulled them off and that's all I can remember, until you said wake up."
"Do you remember what color her eyes are?"
"No."
"Okay, I'm going to have to speck to your chief." Michel reached into his pocket and pulled out another pair of sunglasses.
"I am the chief.," said Bill, "what's going on here?"
"If I told you the truth now, you wouldn't belive me, but if you went to know what's going on you have to come with me. I will show you things you can't even begain to imagan."
"Show me something now," Bill said. He stood there with his arms cross waiting for something to happen.
"Look," said Michel and pointed at the other cell were all the officers were still in. Bill look over at his officers and saw that all their eyes were open, but not one of them were moving. Michel snapped his fingers and yelled, "WAKE UP!" All the officers stared to shack their heads and blink their eyes.
"What happen sir," one of the officer came up to Bill and asked?
"I'll talk to you later," he said and look back at Michel. "How did you do that?"
"I don't have time to explain now, please help me get her back to my house." He pick Max up and she was limp. "Please, put those sunglass on her."
"Why," Bill asked, as he put the sunglass on her?
"Later," Michel said and carried Max out to his car. Bill jumped into the passer seat in Michel's car. "You coming now," he asked?
"Hell yeah! I went to know what's going on in my neighborhood. No, matter what it is."
"What about your people?"
"My people?"
Michel pointed to the station.
"I'll talk to them later."
Michel didn't say anything and just took off down the road to his house. On his way he made a call to his friend. "Tayler, I found her. Well, sort of, anyway be at the house in about five minutes. Prepare for everything, and a guess." Bill could hear Tayler yell, 'GUESS', but Michel set him straight. "The chief of police." He then hung up.
