A little girl about to cry
As she sees her mother
About to die
There goes her dad
Out the door
With a beer in his hand
Going to get some more

Five years later
She sits and stares
Waiting for someone
Who actually cares
This little girl is lost
Has no family or friends
Most people probably thinks
This is where her life ends

She is hungry, she is poor
She would like some food
But she can't find any more
There are some people out there
Trying their best to help
But most people don't even care

She wants to be a movie star
Famous, pretty, and smart
And she wants to buy
A nice looking car
But how will her dreams come true
If she lives on the streets
And there's nothing she can do

Life may get rough
But stand your ground
Don't give up, and always stay tough
No matter how hard it may seem
Everyone has an opportunity
To achieve their dream

She was on the sidewalk
When a familiar face appeared
A guy asked if they could talk
She knew who he was
And she looked at him and cried
Because the night he left her
Was the night her mommy died

His legs started to feel weak
As he looked at her
With the tears flowing down his cheek
How could he have let her mom die
While watching his own daughter
Sit behind the couch and cry

He said he was sorry
For the pain, hurt, and tears
And he promised that in the future
There will be better years
She starts to love him more each day
But the memories in the past
Will never fade away

After one year passed
He was diagnosed with lung cancer
She sat by his side
To make their time together last
"Come on dad, stay a little stronger
Why does it have to be this way
Can't I be happy a little longer?"

After a couple months in a foster home
A young couple came
They were very nice
But it still wasn't the same
They said they were going to take her home
And be her mom and dad
And it will be a different life
Than the one she had

After years of college
She was invited to go to Hollywood
And try out to be an actress
They said just do the best she could
So she packed up
And said her good-byes
While wiping tears
Away from her eyes

Now she is on television
Performing in movies and shows
She never would of thought
She would get this far
But she never gave up
And now she is a movie star

Life may get rough
But eventually you will smile
And will laugh with the ones you love
And life will be worthwhile
So no matter how hard it may seem
Don't ever give up
And you will achieve your dream
