This is a sweet story...love conquers all. A person can be their own worst enemy and most times can't see the good in themselves for the bad. It takes love to wipe away the sin and you have shown that here. Ralph's monster turned out to be Lorilei's hero...a beautiful moment captured by a talented pen. Thank you for sharing . Bobbie

Oh, Shelly, how deeply your compassion shines from your words here. To me, you bring these characters to life as if they are standing before me. How often we look through individuals when a simple smile could change their entire outlook on life. Your poem here should remind us all that humanity is alive and well. Thank you, my dear sweet friend, for this glimpse into your pure hearted and beautiful soul. :)

I'm so glad you posted this one, Shelly. Your words here are so close to my heart. Why are we, as humans, so drawn to things we know will hurt us in the end? Why are we so adament that we can change a situation, even when we know it is hopeless? " A Moth To The Flame" such a fitting title for a beautiful piece. This is always one of my favorites of yours. Thank you for sharing it.
