I feel that this is a simple, honest poem about the reality of the "War on Terror." The author uses each of the descriptions to illustrate how people who are innocent of terrorist activities were the ones who paid the heaviest costs. To someone who doesn't see the victims and experience the suffering agony of losing loved ones in such a brutal way, the poem is a reminder of why war only creates more victims.
