I can sympathize with the pain revealed in this poem....not all memories are comforting, but as someone speaking from personal experience, that other individual may feel certain regrets and emotions, the same way you do. If not, I am sorry and I don't mean to intrude, but if they do, there may still be hope for reconciliation someday. Either way, very well written and truly touching.
Interesting, sort of like Miss Peregrine, but instead of simply being 'special' they also get to take care of extraordinary creatures. Again, would love to see more of your stories as you 'expand' each one.
Interesting story. As a science fiction/fantasy reader I hope you continue with this. Just one bit of advice, proofread and spellcheck your work...I noticed a few minor errors here and there. While it's easy enough to comprehend the text, I don't want such things to detract from the story you are telling. At some point (if you continue the story in-depth, you may decide to go back and do a prequel (of their initial adventures), otherwise very well done.
I think that this is an important story to share with others, so that we can learn from it. I may not have children of my own yet, but I know many people who do. Thank you for sharing this with me, I shall not soon forget it.
Interesting tale. It starts off on a serious tone, with several words of wisdom and important life lessons being learned, but I have to say I like the mother owl's bawdy comment at the end. It is something the fledglings would have never thought of, and perfectly appropriate, as well as a way of ending such a serious story on a humorous note.
