I can't find a way to keep the basic formatting I have for my book from LibreOffice (saving it as a docx, rtf or doc file) when uploading it to my Portfolio. It always strips out the double spacing and the new paragraph indents. That is the formatting for a standard novel manuscript yet this site strips it out. I'm highly frustrated by it. I refuse go manually edit each new paragraph or line to be indented, among other things. Is there a setting I've not yet seen or is there a way to do it which will actually preserve the formatting?
I like the premise of this short story. It definitely kept me interested. I would really like to see this short story expanded to be several times longer, more detailed with perhaps a more complicated way to free the souls, or several tries and failures before it works at the end.
I did see some technical problems such as repetition of words or meanings within the same sentence or at the end of one and beginning of another.
Example 1: I was afraid to jump and I held up my sweaty hands and *screamed*.
*“Ahh!”*
Example 2: The glowing sphere *retreated* from the presence of the man and *backed away*.
There are some issues such as misspelled words or using an incorrect word (confounded), things like that.
I look forward to reading more of your works.
