Perfect! Everybody who is still hurt by 911 ought to read this, how often do we see it when history repeats itself. Sadness is just plain sadness. I think about the 'Trail of tears' and the stories which come out of it. This poem brings back to me a lot of conversations of remorse and sadness and pain. The riots of the 60's, the Nam, sensless things that we do to ourselves, heap onto ourselves, do to others; and for the sake of.... what?
This is unity of poetry when it can concatenate history and make it the tilling mill. Good work... keep writing.
Well, if this doesn't beat all, I don't know what can. In a few words this just about says it all.... Well, doesn't it? It is amazing that sometimes with just a few words we can paint a Rembrant. This is a wonderful way of saying: "Hey sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses."
This is something, if not -- the most important something, a writer, no matter what mode of writer, should never forget. It is that thing which, for us, our dreams are made out of... We need to ensure that every word we used is accounted for... and yes, and literaly uttering, one word is more important than a novel of words because one word can kill, one word can make or break a nation, a friendship, so why not a novel.
Thank you Taznatic I am in awe of such inspiration about just one word.
This is a wonderful, wonderful story. Maybe you could turn it into a 4 or 5 act play. I think it would be worth trying. It is a kind of story which needs to been seen as well as read from beginning to end. The characters are real, and its story fits. Epidemic fits endimic ideas, for not only what goes on now with national problems of whatever type, not just HIV, but other problems from other time periods, whether politics, or medicine, or social issue, regardless of country. I'm impressed.
This newsletter is well informative. It has convinced me to read other writer's work, and maybe do a little bidding; last but not least important is that I will try and "respond to newsletters!" Thank you for the advise, this one is worth saving in my box to read again.
