Betiscute,
I've read some of your other pieces (Memories of Thanksgiving Past, Love and Loss) your writing is straightforward and honest. All your emotions are right there on the page, a sign of a good writer. Recently I experienced the pain and heartbreak of a bad choice in romance (married woman, big mistake!) and the depression that can follow it. You are not alone in your struggles. In fact I truly believe that none of us are ever alone in our sufferings because we all share a single Grand Consciousness. The more I read on This site, the more I am convinced of this great truth. I see so many of my own struggles reflected within my fellow writer's words. We all share similar wounds. The good news is that we as writers can vent them through our work and in turn let the rest of the world know that they are not alone. In my own process I remind myself that the only true moment that any of us have is "this moment". The past is past, etched in stone and immutable, we can't change it and tomorrow is not promised. Stay in the moment and celebrate it for what it is. With each and every moment comes the opportunity for something wonderful to come our way. Don't miss any of them. As usual your work was quite moving. Keep writing and "Keep The faith"! PLA*
Very enjoyable reading "B", there was a touch of nostalgia that tugged at my memories of yesteryear. Being an Army Brat The Holidays always held a special meaning for me. Your work gave me the same feeling as a Norman Rockwell painting; totally Americana. Yet the fact of your Grandparents living in an apartment was refreshing and different. It spoke of the diversity of life experiences, and the nature of we as a people. I'm new to this site so maybe I haven't read enough for me to write a helpful review, but I know what I like and I liked your piece of personal history. Keep The faith! PLA*
I enjoyed its simplicity and its metaphors. I only wished that it had been longer. I feel that you had more to say and would have enjoyed your humor and insight in doing so. Keep The Faith...PLA*
