Hi sounds like a great workshop idea.As for activity on values and beliefs I suspect a young person may find that task hard. How long is the session? Why don't you split then into two as they are huge topics. As for values ask them to think about people they admire( role models) add words etc. or make a list of activities they enjoy and match a value. You may need to show them what values are and the difference between material and non material values. Keep up the good work in personal development, a valuable topic for children and adults.
Hi Cissy.
You write so vividly about your painful experience. I hope it helps you to heal. I understand having experienced a difficult upbringing but I hope you can realise there are many good people in this world who would really support you and that you find the strength to take control of your present and keep looking ahead.
A great topic to write about and well articulated. I speak from one who stayed in a job for ten years longer than I should have as a teacher in Primary. Only now have I broken free and that was due to injury.I'm on a different path now. with a passion for personal development and life experience to offer that could empower others. One snag, can I get someone to pay me for it in the current climate?A big question after years on a treadmill and yet I know this is my purpose in this life and won.t give up my dream. Must find a way to travel on that path and clear away the gravel because I have the ability to help others find theres.Stepping out of the comfort zone is no easy route for many people out there. It takes courage and conviction and your article proves the point and stimulates reflection.
Very interesting to read as a maths teacher. Your writing highlights the value of life experiences that touch the heart, and the difference between the logical thinking mind and the creative, emotional side of human experience. So where does your heart lie? Are you questioning your purpose? And of the value of maths? When you mention the universe- what about the link between maths and quantum physics? Now thats creative and we must respect those laws! Meantime, keep up the good work and at least find students who value you. By the way don't sound boring at all!
