I don't have an interest in poetry. I only tried my hand at this because I love my in-laws story of how they met so much that I wanted to share it! Curious as to how I stacked up, I came to read the winners. I would have rated yours first place. The imagery is magnificent. I guess that is the one thing about writing of any kind...it is so subjective. Yours touched me more than any of the others. I only don't give you a "5" rating because I feel so unqualified to rate poetry. Thanks for sharing!
How can you give any gift like this a rating other than a 5?!!! thank you thank you thank you! I just finally had time to peruse the contests and entered a few in hopes of gaining enough points to earn an upgrade. Thank you for this wonderful blessing! Can you tell me how this works?
The content of this tribute/painful memory is outstanding. You have organized your story well as it flows easily from one thought to the next. Technically you could use some editing assistance with punctuation use. Also a few errors appear in capitalization and spelling, but those could just be typos. Some run on sentences detract from the impact of the story line. Overall a powerful story, which could be made more potent with a rewrite, focusing on use of language. But, you've done what is most difficult for me...getting in touch with feelings.
From a technical standpoint, this page is very inviting visually and provides clear instructions. From an idea standpoint, thank you for giving me an opportunity to revisit a wonderful memory. Since the birth of my fourth baby, life has a tendency to get hectic. What a pleasure to slow down and take a mini mental vacation!
Thank you for an informative article! I have never entered a contest and needed this info. Your description was easy to follow and your humor made me smile!
The one item I didn't see was how to actually perform the link. Did I miss it? You said, "This is the number you link" and then went on to describe what the completed links look like.
Now I know where to find the components and what it will look like when it is done, but I still don't know how to actually perform the function.
Please note, being new to this forum, I am completely willing to accept that I may be reflecting more my ignorance of how these things work than your ommission of information. In either case, can you please enlighten me?!
Thanks for clearing up the mystery of item, bitem, and citem!
