The imagery is fantastic, the way the sun is used at the beginning of this story does tell me how much we take each and everything it seems like for granted. We sometimes take ourselves for granted the most, I know I do. I wrote so many poems about how wonderful the sun is and nature is. I love Sunrises and sunsets. Mountains, trees, animals, etc. We can't take the sun or nature for granted because one day it may no longer be there for us to enjoy. I've been to the Grand Canyon and it was the most wondrous thing ever and at the time, I thought in a way our trip got ruined by rain. But actually they made it more magnificant and more worthwhile because I saw a triple rainbow at sunset over the gaping cataclysms that God created.
Why do we have to treat others like they treated this homeless guy? This story, I think could use more development, I think more could be added. Have Him go to the store the next day with the change and get that cereal and maybe have somebody take sympathy on him and put him in one of those halfway house that helps people off the streets and into stability.
