Wow! That was quite a unique turn of events! I liked it.
At first I wondered just what I was going to read, but by the ending it was quite funny indeed! I wonder just how many women are out there, that would like to send their men to meet up with these "lovelies' to make sure, the men have a new eye opener and get a clear meaning of the words, "keeping it at home!"
Thank you for a very enjoyable random read! After a crazy day at work, I needed a good laugh! Your poem hit the spot just right!! Clever use of imagination and rhyme; I could actually see in my minds eye this whole conversation taking place in my vary own barn!!
As a mom, with wonderful summer weather, the parties that go on, it's just a brutal reminder of what can happen; what you pray not to happen with the ones that you love! My sons are my life, and I'm glad that your father did take the time to take you with him; to show you just what could be worse than death. What that young lady has to go through each day, is really a living death. Hopefully she can continue to heal, and prehaps you would become friends with her. Maybe volunteer there?...
I'm very glad that you learned what your dad was trying to both show and tell you. Thank you for sharing this with all of us!
A truelly touching poem about the sacrifices that our soldiers in the armed forces make. It is saddening to think about all of those who go out ther, give their lives for us and never come back. This is a very touching poem to read.
I wish you luck with your writing. Take care.
