What type of person would steal people's heads and/or bodies? That is the main question of this interactive story as the main character, Gavin, tries to find this out when he sees that a female companion of his has had their head or body stolen, thus leaving their other parts alone. The fact that severed heads can attach to any severed body, even when the parts do not match, make this story even more interesting.
Yes, this story has flaws, but not huge ones that make it unreadable. All in all, this is a pretty cool interactive story with some sort of mystery element thrown in.
Just what is a "head swapper"? Is it a person? Is it a device? Is it a thought? It turns out that it is all three, as the story focuses on the swapper being the main character, the device that he is using, and just the mere thought of swapping heads.
This story contains many twists and turns and even goes beyond head swapping, as there is some head detachment and conjoinment in-between the swaps.
With all these swappers, anything with a head can be swapped. That is right: not just humans, but animals, dolls, and even those in television and magazines.
If I had to pick one flaw, it is that some of the chapters are repetitive. But then again, there is only so much that you can do with the concept of head swapping.
Of all of saracen1187's stories, this one is easily my favorite. The fact that this story mainly focuses on a teenager and his relationships with his family and friends makes this one stand out. I easily look forward to the many wondrous additions that other people (and I) would create.
Just how random is this story? Very. But this randomness comes out as playful rather than annoying. The fact that you almost never know where each choice is going to end up prevents this interactive story from getting stale. True, it does sometimes get too confusing, but that is a small price to pay to embrace the insanity of The Necklace's Curse.
Of all the few headswap interactive stories on this site, this one is the closest to the "Choose Your Own Adventure" tone. Instead of focusing on one character being head-swapped, this story offers options for many different characters of both genders and all ages... and more characters to come!
Good story. Not the best, but the choices in this vary a lot.
