As someone whose parents are well into their retirement, I relate to this poem. All the aches and pains that plague them, as well as "the forgetting" of where things are and abilities taking a hiatus. It's tough getting old. But it beats the alternative.
I enjoyed this poem very much. Well done, Write on!
This reminds me so much of The Princess Bride. When Wessley was saying, "as you wish..." he was really saying, "I love you." Love is so much more than those three words. I could relate to this poem.
So, wait until they're listening to tell them you love them. Or, tell them you love them until they hear you.
Well done, Write on!
This is such a wonderful example of technology taking the mysteries out of life. There is rarely a sense of adventure anymore. Everyone (me included) is guilty of technology allowing them to become lazy. We're on computers at home and work, we have music or cell phones attached while we exercize, we become desensitized to almost everything around us. All this technology and we don't know how to communicate with eachother.
Give me whimsy, give me adventure, throw in a few mysteries. And unplug me!
Well done, Write on!
This poem evokes a deep melancholy and ache for release. But also a sense of relief through acceptance of your fate. No one escapes death but it holds so many different stigmas for everyone. I loved the imagery of this piece. It made me think of how we all fear darkness to some extent. Well done! Write on!
This is such a charming testament to true love. Reading it, it is apparent to see how much you love your wife. Almost tangible descriptions of devotion. I enjoyed reading this because it is positive and uplifting. I fear, in this world today, it will become rarer and rarer still to find two people that have lived a lifetime together. Marriage is not the institution for some that it is to others.
Bravo on your fifty years! Well done! Write on!
This poem serves as both a reminder and an encouragement to persevere. I particularly like how it resonates with the reader, in a sense, appealing to their self preservation and courage by taking the chances, moving forward and finding hope.
Very positive message and very well written. Write On!
The dream for a peaceful coexistence is not a futile one. As your poem so eloquently explains, all the cliches and attempts at implied philosophy come no closer to peace than to maybe provide the utterer a justification or peace of mind for having said it. All words and no action do not bring us closer. To instill the desire we need action.
Very well written and excellent tone for the troubled times in which we live. Thank you for your voice. Write On!
I'd like to make it a lot farther than this!!! So where is Chapter 7? Hmmmm? Still working on it I suppose. Okay I guess I'll just have to wait.........Okay, I'm tired of waiting. I want more Vivian! I want more Rafe! I want more vampires, more blood, more sexy scenes, more embarrassing revalations, more sleuthing, more werewolves, more fun with the hired help. You can't just leave me hanging like this! At least tell me a Chapter 7 is in the works. You've got me hooked C. J.. Great work! Don't let anyone tell you differently.
Nothing like throwing a werewolf into the mix with a hotheaded (not to mention, hot bodied), stubborn, and very opiniated vampiress. This just keeps getting more and more interesting by the chapter. You've got a novel on your hands C. J.. This could be a runaway hit in the fantasy/suspense genre. Of course, when an editor gets their hands on it, they might give you some ways to polish it, but the rough cut, at least for me, is amazing. I'm loving every minute. Keep it coming!!
You sure as heck are! Good that is. Now all I need is delightfully detailed description of Rafe. Very detailed. He sounds delicious. These vamps are going to be a giggle to watch. I can't wait to see who orders who off the room service menu! There's just that dead body in the shed to deal with though. And the question. Will any more be joining him? Great storyline, wonderful graphic detail, and awesome characters C. J.. I can't wait to read more. The more vampires the better! The big Five Stars as usual. You haven't disappointed me and I don't expect you to.
Ahhhhhh. Willing blood donators. Now if only the Red Cross had thought of a Bed and Breakfast setting, they might do a little better! I can't wait to see it heat up between Vivian and Rafe. That's going to be a night to remember! This just keeps getting better and better. I love the mystery aspect tied in with the vampire theme. Combine those two with vampire senses and it's going to be a story to watch. And I AM watching. Excellent still, C.J., keep it coming!
