One of my favorite activities is, and was, driving up a mountain in my 1990 Japanese car. It used to be in a 1971 Japanese, other car. Seeing a trend? My favorite trip was when I went over Monarch pass in Colorado in January! Only me and the snow plows making me feel like an old biplane hero on the road. My little 1971 Datsun 510 was like a little champ with me at the wheel! I had left Taos, New Mexico where I was teaching skiing for my job and painting acrylic paintings at night and listening to KTAOs radio too. No TV!!!

I went out on a date before I left with a young woman named Kristine, who was a fellow instructor. We went
to a lodge on New Years Eve and drank Champaine. Happy New Year in Taos, New Mexico! Like many great senoritas over the years, I have wondered about her from time to time and wondered what happened to her? That's what happened today. 1/1/1989..

Interesting memory. My Toyota was a lemon but I loved my Miata. I now live in the Valley of the Suburu... AWD. *Smile*

I was thinking of Lillian-of-the-fireflies yesterday (Kansas circa 1973).
My friend Townes
It's been a long time
It was Seattle at the Rainbow Tavern

You lost your keys to your life and your pickup
You were drunk and brilliant as always
Now it's around ten years

And we meet again
your fragile as a rail
but still living

Chorus:
Feel like I'm backstage
with a dieng Hank Williams
Good luck down the road my friend Townes

Got a bottle in a sack
to help ease the pain
it shows that it never goes away

I know my friend I been there too
does anyone care
I doubt it

Chorus
Feel like I'm backstage
with a dieing Hank Williams
Good luck down the road my friend Townes

Just read a great issue of New Mexico Magazine. July 2024.
Hadn't made a pot of pinto beans in years. Both my grandmother and my mom used to make them. My grandmother is deceased at 104 years and was quite a cook from Texas. Her Fried chicken won awards in our family. But, when they're gone they're gone. However, the memories do stay with you. Hence the pot of beans from scratch with all the S.W. fixings. Granny was the best at fried chicken.
Watching and listening to an influence of mine...the late Leonard Cohen, a Canadian artist/poet. I really like his 1970s work because I haven't' heard anything else like him and just generally respect him.

I released a tape in 1994 when people were still doing that kind of thing, quant. "Poetic License" to the critics who at least one really, liked it. My first release.

Later I followed with several band projects in Portland and Seattle. Most of my music was not released, which may surprise those in the know.

All I will really say about my musical efforts is, I think I was a really good and versatile songwriter considering what I had to work with which at times was limited by finances sadly. Thanks..
Lost trying to just find the right profile page to start writing my bio? Any tips for a newbie?

While there are a few places where bio information can appear, using the Biography tab is a great place to start. Click on Portfolio from the left-side navigation bar, then Biography from the pop-up menu. At the upper right of that page is a wheel *Gear* located just below the word Logout. Click on that and you're in business!

When you're finished adding however much info you're comfortable sharing, be sure to click on that big Submit Biography button to save your work.

I went to church today to do something on a rainy Oregon Sunday morning with people, and wished I was a Buddhist already...(I'm working on it). Sort of a Catholic/Episcopal/ Wanta be Buddhist. Have a great weekend.
