So I have a lot of ideas for this Wizard of Oz story. It'll be modernized, Dorothy will live in Kansas with her aunt and uncle, her dog. The first twist is she has a boyfriend. After the cyclone takes her to Oz she meets the good witches Laina and Glinda, who advise her to see the powerful wizard in the Emerald City and find the help of a man named Nick. They warn her of Oz's dangers, such as the sorceress Almira, who plans to use the silver shoes given to Dorothy to rule Oz. The four witches were my first idea for the story. They all rule a certain quadrant of Oz and have elemental powers. Laina is the north and has powers of earth. Glinda is the south and has fire. The wicked witches, Morgana of the east, and Almira of the west, have air and water. Almiras power is water however she is cursed because of her dark nature. Water burns her skin like acid. And she has a temper problem. Whenever she gets mad her skin turns green. Also Dorothys companions, a magic scarecrow who was enchanted by the wicked witches as a weapon, but didn't work how they wanted. A lion, who formally ruled the forest, but is a coward so the role was taken from him. And Nick, former lover of Morgana but after breaking her heart she cut off his limbs and cut out his heart. His limbs were replaced with tin. Throughout the journey Almira haunts Dorothy like some sort of ghost. In the end Dorothy inhabits Morganas air powers and defeats Almira, melting her. Nick becomes protector of the west and Dorothy the east, and goes back home. But Almira is still alive. She faked her death and follows Dorothy back to Kansas bringing her loyal winkie guard and flying monkeys with her. I have many other ideas but they won't all fir in this entry so let me know what you think so far, currently working on this story.
I've had this idea for a modern version of the Wizard of Oz story. I've been working on it for a while, and I have a lot of great ideas for it, I just don't know how to start :/ I hope to get it done and share on here
I've been writing this story for a while. It's a modern Cinderella story but the twist is the Cinderella character is a teenage male to female transgender, and the plot revolves around her issues at home with her mom, bullying at school, and a crush she has on her friend. It's in the form of a play and a drama teacher at my school is helping me with it and I might publish some of it on here
