I'm writing and writing to revise the novel I had mistakenly thought was ready to go hunting for an agent. But, and I'm actually happy about this, a tenured professor of writing in the MFA program at Sarah Lawrence took an interest, looked at the work and thought the writing excellent, plenty of story etc. but overall needed more structure, suggested new beginning and many other things. This is fine but takes a ton of time. Oh, well! |
9/11. Every time I hear it, my heart falls low, plummettng only a little less than when I stood in my Easthampton,NY bedroom getting dressed for work with the Today show on. Such a clear, clear September day and such incredulity, disbelief, fear of what this meant, what might come next. The first hit, the second, like personal blows. Painful and tears flowed. I went out to look at the ocean that day, right after I found out my son was OK (He worked in nearby Wall Street and walked home for miles in the white ash.).The Atlantic Ocean was blue that day, calm with just low, rolling waves--peaceful sounding, when it should have been roiling with ten foot waves and angry crashes as they broke. and soft al |

Hi everybody, I joined yesterday and am looking forward to learning from reviews and being as much help as I can to others.
