I now have life altering information.

I went to the doctor for an infection that would not heal and just got worse with every over the counter solution I tried.

She ordered an AC1 test. That's to test for diabetes. Good Lord, she has my attention. Turns out there is currently no sign of diabetes. My sister who has it said that she wished she addressed the first warning signs two years earlier and had acted on them. I have that opportunity to straighten up and fly right.

Husband is on board for Thyca cleanse diet. Coaches on board for support and kick the butt coaching.

The only thing in my way is my I-don't-wanna mindset. Good thing I have a good coach. My sister (coach) and I both have the same ailment, not being able to resist the comfort foods. But by working through what triggers it, now I can actively choose: Do I want this Butterfinger candybar because I want the Butterfinger candybar, or do I want it because I am feeling unwanted, unloved, lonely, etc.? And it really works. When I question whether the comfort food is supporting my health and wellbeing, and not just my mental easy button, I make better choices. Somewhere way back when I said "chocolate cures everything that ails you". That does not work for my current state of "not healthy, not well".

I don't expect this new direction to be easy. I do not expect it to be obstacle free. I do expect results. No one ever said life would be easy. No one ever said that which is worth having would be easy to get. So off I go to challenge myself, my coach, and my team.

People are born in January. It is frigid here in Minnesota, but people like to celebrate tax time, and we have lots of January results. Falls into that "What the heck?" category.

So it's Saturday and the temps are hovering at the zero mark. It's nasty. and it's my friend Pam’s birthday. You can't go without celebrating Pam's birthday or she will feel sad and forlorn. She really does. And so with it this cold, only the brave hearts (like us) or the mentally challenged (don't think it) were out checking things out or going to the same place we were. We took some time to go play board games later and it got to that time so they went home -- or tried to. About two miles from our home, they got a flat tire. AAA to the rescue. In the meantime, they called us to come get them so that they did not have to stay out in a bitterly cold car waiting for help.

Driving back to warmth and comfort of home, I got to witness a police chase in the offing. I pulled up to the stoplight and saw the emergency blinker going. Next thing I know, a police car was rushing through a red and green light at the same time a black car right turned and sped off in front of me. The cop car was right behind the guy, but he would not stop. Then a second cruiser right turned and continued the chase. I was trying to follow but Bob forgot a valuable piece of paper in his car and we had to go back for it. On the way back, we saw the ambulance and third patrol car going to where the action was.

Must have been a crash or something. If my memory holds, I will go and check to see what the big deal was

Have you ever heard a song and it immediately brought tears to your eyes? What song was it? Why did it affect like you like it did, was it the song or was it what was happening in your personal life that it struck a cord.

The song is : One Hell of an Amen by Brantley Gilbert.
The first stanza is about losing a son who is a soldier.
the second one is about losing a friend to cancer.

Well, both of those are stabs to the heart for me.

When I sing along, I change the words to One Big Amen because, Hell is not on the same plane as heaven and no one I love so much should be consecrated to hell, not even in jest or "harmless" song lyric.

And because I lost my mother and sister to cancer, the he becomes a she in the second stanza.

And the Be Well My friends become Be well, my mother, or Be well, my sister.

And they are both in a much better place, but this world would be better if they were still in it.

You have a new super power. You can disappear and reappear! How would you use this super power?

I work for a lawyer. Can you imagine where I would pop up? We could win cases all the time.

It's only a matter of time before I figure out how to manipulate time and pop in on the powerball.

I might even use it for something fun like visiting my sister, or dad, or anyone else who is out of state.

In times of sorrow, I might just take a breather in a nice quiet place and away from all the distractions that are assaulting my senses when I am hurting.

As with all supernatural powers, I would not want it unless there was some level of good that could come from it, especially if there was a way to help missing and exploited children. If there was a way to go to where they are, grab on and bring them back to a safe place, that would be uber amazing.
