When we turn away from God, He always gives us that second chance that we never deserve.
Second Chance

I was in a sinful city,
Walking along a darkened street,
My head hung low in misery,
And slowly I dragged my feet.

My heart ached from the weight,
Of many sins and shame,
With ciricles deep beneath my eyes,
They didn't quite shine the same.

I was lost and stumbling further,
But suddenly I did hear,
Almost as quite as the silent wind,
God's whisper in my ear.

His voice was soft and sweet,
At the sound my eyes did tear,
I wanted to embrace my Father,
As He continued to draw me near.

But this world has become deceiving,
And sometimes it has its way,
I saw its false promises pass beside me,
And from God I turned away.

I stumbled forward step by step,
My hands gripping an icy wall,
And the world tripped me with its hate,
And laughed as I did fall.

My body lay hurt and broken,
I knew I could take no more,
With bruised lips I prayed softly,
To the Voice I had heard before.

He came to me with open arms,
And picked me off the ground,
He held me in His loving hands,
Even after I had turned Him down.

He healed my wounds from falling,
Cleared my teary vision so I could see,
Then held out His healing hands,
And said, "Now come, and follow Me."

I grasped His hands and followed,
The loving light of my forgiving friend,
And forever will I love my Savior,
Who gave me life again.
