Prompt for Journaling--discover the value of a Writer's Journal
The prompt that I offer today is to help you realize the truth in the old adage:

"You eat first with your eyes."

As writer's it is very important to pay close attention to detail. Realistic detail adds interest for our readers and helps keep them in our stories. Readers need to be able to relate to our characters and their situations.

So for the next week or so, or as often as you will take note of food at every opportunity.

Journal your food experiences. Presentation, color, how it all looks on the plate. Describe texture, and detailed appearance. Describe the size of portions. Aroma is hard to capture verbally and is often overlooked. Describe the temperature from: salads, entrees, sides, and desserts. Want a real challenge: describe in detail a buffet. Make someone be able to see and taste the food with your words.

And if you need an excuse to take yourself out for a meal -- I give you this jounaling prompt to justify treating yourself to any type of meal that you would enjoy. From Burger King, McDonalds, or to the best 5 Star Restarrant in your city, and everywhere in between -- go enjoy any meal of your choosing and journal it.

Hope you all enjoy --

Sincerely
