This word search-cum-glossary of Islamic terms should be instructive AND fun.
My colleague Dreams - Anon, who are you? Author Icon had created an Islam Awareness Day (see "The Islamic Prayer RoomOpen in new Window.), and this word-search was a part of the day's contest. A simple meaning of each search word is given hereunder.

Glossary:


Allah: The proper name of God. Allah is the Maker of all creatures. He is not just the God of Muslims, but of all human kind.

Prophet Muhammad: The final messenger of Allah to
mankind.

Riba: Interest, which is unlawful in Islam

Shias: A sect within Islam that believes in the martyrdom of Prophet Husain(A.S.)

Sunnis: The other major sect of Islam, which follows the Sunnah(way of life) of Prophet Muhammad

Veil: A Muslim woman’s veil or head-covering when
meeting strangers and going out.

Quran: The sacred book of Muslims, the final book of guidance from Allah, sent down to Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the angel Jibrail (Gabriel) over a period of 23 years.

Salaat: The five compulsory daily prayers offered in a particular way at set times.

Friday Prayers: The special congregational Salah said at midday every Friday.

Islamic Education: Special religious education offered by priests.

Zakaat: Welfare contribution – a compulsory payment from a Muslim’s annual savings (usually 2.5% of the annual net profit after deduction of all expenses). It is an act of worship and should not be confused with any tax.

Hijaab: see above(veil)

Meccah: The city in Saudi Arabia where the Kabah is located and the birthplace of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

Hajj: The pilgrimage to the Kabah in Makkah. One of the five basic duties in Islam

Medinah: The place where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is buried.

Ramadan: The ninth month of the Islamic calendar associated with fasting and "The Night of Repentance(Lailatul Qadr).

Muharram: The first month of the same calender. .

Hadiths: The writings of peers of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), describing eye-witness accounts of the Prophet's way of life and teachings.

Ahl-el-kitaab: People of the Book

Jihaad: Literally, "to strive" to protect and preserve the purity of Islam.

Allahu-Akbar: The prayer chant which means "Allah is Great".

Sunnah of Muhammad: Refer to Hadiths above. Sunnah means " the way he did".

Soum: The ritual of fasting from aa few hours before sunrise to sunset during Ramadan.
