This is a poem describing the exciting procedure of baptism. |
Baptism Written by Serena Collins Baptism is always a joyful day, A symbol that you have chosen Christ's way. In church, speaking vows, with robes from head to toe, Saying "yes" and "I do" will set you all aglow. Standing behind the sanctuary, then walking up the stairs, The stairs leading to the baptistry, saying your silent prayers. Then go down to the water, with the pastor will you stand, He says a little about you, and then kindly takes your hand. "I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen." So down will you go into the water, and then back up again. But this does not end your story, in any single way, For you will recommit yourself to Christ here forward, every single day. And as the days go ever so slowly by, You will grow largely in Christ, and this you cannot deny. |
