A lonely Bigfoot driven from his social unit by a dominant male encounters humans
My mom had loved me even though I wasn't the biggest and strongest of her children. She and my older sisters, tender leaf and pink flower, had all helped me. Sharing food, picking ticks and chiggers out of my fur.

These sweet moments wouldn't last. I was my mother's only boy child. As soon as I began to show signs of maturation, the largest male, Boulder Smash, saw me as a threat.

I couldn't even begin to measure up to his massive ten foot tall body. There was a reason he had mating rights with all the females.

As I fled the only company I'd ever had, logs and stones flew after me. Boulder Smash wasn't even going to chance me coming back.

Once I had escaped the hostile barrage, I sat inside the rotted trunk of a tree and ululated mournfully to myself. It hurt being separated from my mom and sisters. It was always the way, eventually all male Sasquatch had to leave the troupe. Knowing this didn't make the hurt go away.

I heard the sound of tiny rocks crunching under a huge weight. I stopped vocalizing. Had I wandered into another being's territory? I needed to know what was making the noise.

As the crunching grew louder, I picked up a scent. It wasn't natural but I'd smelled it sometimes when the troupe was foraging. It was the stink the shiny round hoofed moose had.

Soon, I could see it coming on the wide track the strange moose. This one was white and shiny, like a fat grub pulled out of a log. It stopped at the clearing downhill from where I stood.

I was amazed! Two tiny Sasquatch with short blue fur on their legs, multi colored chests, black hooves instead of feet popped out of the shiny round hoofed moose.

I'd seen round hoofed moose a few times off in the distance. I didn't know they kidnapped Sasquatch. Were these ones like me? Their fur was all weird the only place it was close to normal was on their heads.

The one with long light colored fur on her head and wearing funny stones around their neck jabbered at the other one with short spiny fur. The long haired one made a gesture to make the other one come near.

I didn't know if that was a good idea, my fur only got spiny when it hadn't been cleaned in a while...they could have bugs eating their scalp.

The one with long hair pulled out a smooth shiny stone with pretty sparkles on one side and black shiny on the other. Long fur put their arm around short fur and pointed the black shiny side at them both.

The tiny Sasquatches did something and magically there was a window to another world. There were three Sasquatches in the window. One looked like me and the other two looked like the strange tiny ones! How did they get in there and why were they posing like us?

There was a chirping noise like a grackle but not. Suddenly the micro universe on the rock froze. The two tiny Sasquatches babbled and made weird happy noises. Then they got really quiet. They turned around and looked up.

After making some alarmed screeches they went back to the round hoofed moose and it ran off with them. They must be in trouble!

I chased after and threw rocks. I hoped I could stop the beast from leaving with its captives. None of my throws hit the mysterious animal and it escaped.

I felt even worse. I felt like howling more but I knew I needed food and to make a nest for the night. I didn't know if those odd Sasquatches were okay but I had bigger worries.
