Felix here, guy who got thrown into another world for. Enjoy my attemps at survival.
"Beginning revival. Subject received bonus. Adding components, rewriting genetic structure. Warning, outside energy interference. Compensating. Mutation applied. Compensation complete. Commencing awakening. Good luck, and survive." A cold female voice spoke. Felix gasped for air, feeling like he had just been submerged in a heavy sludge for hours. He flailed for a few seconds before slowly calming down, and opened his eye's. It was a alley, one filled with dirt, rat's, and unidentified piles of filth. Cobblestone was visible, and at the street he could see people amd carriages going by. Felix got up slowly, staring at everything with disbelief. The voice from before, was that real? He looked down and saw his body was skinny, and short. He was also wearing torn clothes that barely covered just below the knees. "What?" He demanded, and the small voice all but confirmed his previous fears. Reincarnation, into the body of someone dead. "The fuck?" Felix muttered looking around. Behind him was another entry way into the alley, showing a similar scene of a busy street. "Hey, looky here." A voice spoke, and Felix turned back around to see three men. They all looked like crap, unkempt beards, dirty clothes, and cold eye's. Eye's that where looking at him. "Looks like we ran into another street rat." The one on the left said. He looked to be in his forties, but the dirty face and beard could be wrong. He wasn't big, but he was very broad chested, his messy shirt strained. He also had big hands. The middle one was average height and build, but hard sharp green eye's under his messy hair. Felix felt he was more dangerous as the leader of the group. The one on the right was the same as the middle one, only older with wrinkles and a hat. Felix knew nothing good would come in staying, so he turned and ran. Only thing was his body was that of a twelve year old malnourished brat, and although the men weren't rich, they where more fell fed. They easily caught him and the big one punched out. Everything became blurry after that, but he could still hear then talk. "Damnit, doesn't have a single damn copper." A voice cursed, and someone kicked his ribs, hard. Felix doubled over, struggling to breath and focus. "Don't waste your energy. It's getting late, we should head back to our alley." A older voice spoke. One of then spit on Felix as they left, but he was to busy gasping for air to care. Finally he could, and lied there for awhile, feeling rage slowly build up. He had just finished college, and was going to get a job. He was finally going to be able to step out and make a change, take the big leap, and this happened. He didn't even know how he died, or if he even did. "Damnit." He coughed out, slowly propping himself up. "Damnit." He cried, and slapped the cobblestones beneath him. With that clap, something changed. Felix looked at his arm in shock, as he saw blue lightning flash. His whole arm had glowing blue lines along it like veins, and lightning was arching between his fingers. Slowly, they faded with the lightning like it was a illusion, but as they retreated Felix could feel it in him. Like a switch had been flipped, a warm feeling slowly flowed through his body. When it reached his injuries, the pain went away. His vision cleared up, and he took a deep refreshing breath. He did so before, but why did the air suddenly feel so nice, like a pleasant aftertaste? That wasn't important know however. Felix looked at his hands again, trying to recall the feeling. Nothing happened however, but he could feel the warm feeling inside still, even if it slowly faded down. Like a comfort at the back of his mind. "Whatever that was, I like it. Still won't help me get food thoe." Felix sighed looking down at his rags, and his stomach grumbled. He slowly walked out of the alleyway and onto the street, ignoring the stares of disgust some people gave him. Walking around confirmed something however, he was in a world in the dark ages. No cars, phones, proper clothes or knowledge, absolute fools. Biggest invention would be the ballista, maybe. Of course, he couldn't ignore that magic could be a thing. His previous display and the voice talking about a outside energy source. Of course, it obviously wasn't that advanced considering how dirty and gloomy the place was. Their was also one other thing, Furries. Humanoid beasts walking the streets along side the humans. All types, all colors, and it was weird for him. Shrugging it off, he followed ths smell of food and the growing sounds of a crowd. Felix reached the marketplace, full of people and vendors, and more importantly, food. His stomach grumbled as he looked at the food on display, but the warry and alert owners, as well as a few guards patrolling by let him know it wouldn't be easy. Didn't mean he wouldn't try. Felix watched and got a feel for the currency system, which was basic. 10 li was 1 dis, and 50 dis was 1 silver. 10 silver was 1 gold. He knew there was probably more, but that was all he could gather at the moment. Currently he needed food, and to get food he needed money, but he didn't have any money. Yet. Felix walked to a nearby alley and sat down, looking at a few small pebbles on the ground. He took a deep breath, doing his best to clear his mind before focusing on the pebble, willing it to move. The pebble was stubborn and didn't flinch, but Felix was even more stubborn, thinking on how to use his power. Before, he was more than just angry, he felt a raging fire inside at it all. The injustice of his reincarnation, how close he was to freedom, how those men looked down on him. "Never again." He muttered, and opened his eyes. All seven pebbles where floating, and the warm feeling was back. Felix smiled, practising making the pebbles move in different directions, and different speeds. When he was confident, he got up and moved back to the square. Taking a deep breath, he weaved through the crowd, every know and again some coins flew from someone's pockets and into his sleeves. He did it fast, and he did it while right next to them, so no one noticed. He was a little slow at first, but gradually got a lot better. Felix left the market, counting a total of 2 dis and 15 li. Smiling, he went to a vendor, and under his suspicious eye's paid for a slab of cooked meat. The man begrudgingly handed it to him for the 15 li, leaving him with 2 dis. Felix quickly ate the warm food, then walked back into the alley. As he walked, he began practising by throwing pebbles more forcefully, but none would do more than slightly sting. Felix knew he needed something lethal, and remembered when he first got his power. He had made lightning. Felix looked at a small broken down crate, and pointed at it. "Think lightning, think electrons in the air, the smell of ozone." He muttered to himself. He felt a slightly numbing sensation in his arm, before his hand lit up. Like before it was like glowing blue veins under the skin, and lightning flashed out, blowing the crate to peices with the remaining wood bits on fire. He smiled widely, letting lightning jump between his hands before he remembered a certain group. He looked up at the sky, seeing it was getting dark, decided to practice a bit before sleeping. He'd find those three another time. Felix sat and looked at the rest of the crates in the alley, deciding to practice his telekinesis. Lightning was cool, but it was strong enough. Telekinesis had potential for more use, and could be overpowered as well. "Focus Luke, use the force." Felix told himself with a smile. For hours he tried different ways of moving objects, throwing them, crushing them, and so on. He noticed that the more he practiced, the stronger his power was getting, like a muscle. Before he could barely lift a few coins, but know he could lift a few boards and throw them semi decently. He also learned how to throw lethaly, but it was only in a straight line. "Whatever, might as well sleep." Felix sighed lying down. He was completely unaccustomed to sleeping like this, and lied awake for hour's. When he finally did sleep and wake up, he found someone searching him. He turned, and met the eye's of another kid who looked very similar to him, skinny and ragged. The kid grabbed a dis and ran, but Felix wasn't having it. One of the remaining pieces of board flew and slammed into the kid's leg, making him fall over with a yelp. Felix grabbed the scrambling kid and forced him against a wall, snatching the dis and pushing the kid back. The brat glared up at him, but slowly backed off. Felix could have easily shot a bolt of lightning, but he still carried a bit of modern society in him, as well as him understanding where the child was coming from. It was survival here, and Felix had won the battle. Further battle would only weaken them and may injure them, and Felix proved he was stronger. He turned and made his way through the streets, mostly sticking to the alleyways before he finally found them. "Got thirteen li from the job." The big one said. "I got a dis from mine." The eldest said. "That's because you gamble. Your lucky this time, but you usually lose." The younger one snarled. They argued as Felix calmly approached. "Hey." He called, and they looked over. "Well, if it isn't the street rat from before. Come for another beat'en?" The old man grinned. "I got these." Felix showed his 2 dis, and greed flashed in their eye's. "Come and get it." Felix said taking them back. The three rose up, and Felix waited with a smile. They where cautious seeing his confidence, but after no ambushes or guards they didn't know where the confidence was from. "Maybe I kicked him to hard." The younger one muttered. "Or I hit to hard." The burly one said as they approached. "Or this." Felix offered shooting a lightning bolt. It slammed into the burly man's face, making him yell and fall over, flopping like a fish. "A elemus?" The old man gasped. Felix smiled and hit him with a bolt to the legs, making the old man fall over. He then turned to the young one, and smiled. "Say, I remember someone clearly kicking me a lot yesterday. It kinda hurt. Something like this." Felix flicked his hand, and the man suddenly felt something slam into his gut. A cracking noise rang out and he spat some blood as he buckled over, gasping for air. "Funny how karma works huh?" Felix asked before looting them. "Thanks, street rat's." Felix said before taking the old man's coat. It had seen better days, but would help protect him from the cold. Felix also took the younger man's shoes. They stunk, but again, better than nothing. "It's gotten stronger." Felix noted as he walked. His lightning seemed stronger as well, more bright and thick bolts. "Good." He smiled. More power was always welcome, especially in a unknown world like this. From what the old man said, a elemus, it would mean he wasn't the only one with these power's, so he had to be ready. Felix was going down a somewhat empty street with only a few people when he froze. He breathed deeply, tasting that sweet taste in the air again. It had gotten stronger when he entered the street, curious. He tested it, and followed it as best he could, like a snake tasting the air, leading it to prey. Soon he was at another market place, only this one had more rich people and a lot more guards. The stalls also had more expensive stuff, and on a few of them Felix could detect that rich taste. It was different colored crystals, some glowing slightly, some not, but they all seemed to call out to him. He so badly wanted to get one, until he saw even the smallest and dullest crystal cost at least 5 silver. "Damn." He muttered before reluctantly walking away. This would take some work. "Later." He muttered, as he didn't even know if they would provide anything. Right know Felix needed to focus on survival, food, shelter, and money. He went back to the more poor but far more crowded marketplace and did what he did before, magical pickpocketing. Felix bought a few more bits of meat before drinking at a well, then thought about his next plan. "How do I make a living, because I can't do this forever." Felix muttered looking at his hands. Finally, he decided to look around for a job, after changing clothes of course.
