[Introduction]
The griffins waited hungrily for their next meal to arrive, their mouths open and slobbering, blood from earlier prey dripping down their chins. Their leader, a Griffin known as Megrym, did not oblige. He stared them down and shouted angrily, “You Fools!” He looked around, finding the closest griffin, and brutally tearing their head off. He wiped the blood from his beak, and surveyed the rest of his species as they cowered and hid. “That donkey… it was the easiest prey possible. And you blundering idiots let it get away! Sometimes I cannot understand how incompetent you imps are. We are starving and if you can not catch food anymore, then we will need to thin the herd…” He said, smiling cruelly. “And you all know what that means… Ehehe…” The Griffins shuddered and stepped back, knowing full well that their master would not hesitate to “thin the herd” as he called it. Disturbed murmurs arose but were quickly extinguished by a loud shout. It was high and commanding, and cut through the air like a knife.
“Silence!” It screamed. Then spoke in a calmer tone. “There will be no killing as long as I am in charge.” A tiny black cat stepped from the shadows, his eyes gleaming, glaring at the griffins. One griffin made the mistake of speaking
“But you are not in charge!” The cat began to snarl its fur shifting and moving, changing form, it grew taller and stronger until it was a shiny black griffin, larger and stronger than even megrym. His snarl was so terrifying that it made the Griffin that opposed him shake and cower.
“Not yet…” The cat said, a devilish grin beginning to spread on his face. All that opposed this being of form would regret it, for that night, as the cat and Megrym fought for control, one died. It was not the Cat. And so, from that moment on, the demon known as “Fuzzy” was lord of the griffins.
