On September 11, 2001 our world changed because of terror, but also because of heroes. |
Clear blue skies were seen on a morning bright. Planes moved through the September air in flight Unknown two planes were flying way too low Breaking glass fell to streets way down below. Panic grew as people ran for their lives Screams of fear as masses strive to survive Chaos ensued as debris hit the ground Humans fell from the sky landing around. Lord please don’t let this old world forget Three thousand friends their days number set Our world changed for everybody that day Father please teach us how to live, your way. At a building in a city miles away Another plane crashed disrupting the day This time the building did survive A place where heroes plan and freedom thrive. Roaring noise silence falls darkness ruled the day Voices heard brings hope again grace from far away Heroes ran tall to the storm laid so small Heroes ran to the storm now not heard at all Lord please don’t let this old world forget Three thousand friends their days number set Our world changed for everybody that day Father please teach us how to live, your way. Police and fire fighters led that infamous day Heroes who entered the storm to search and to save Risking it all, were risking body and life Heroes there, walls breakdown, lost life their hearts in strife. Lord please don’t let this old world forget Three thousand friends their days number set Our world changed for everybody that day Father please teach us how to live, your way.</p> Hijackers take over another plane Heroes can see past the terrorist’s game Fliers and crew vow they won’t reach their goal Stopping evil plans giving shouts of “Let’s Roll.” A mournful day we won’t soon forget Remembering souls lost, some who’d just met Patriots live in the home of the brave Heroes here now and those beyond the grave. Lord please don’t let this old world forget Three thousand friends their days number set Our world changed for everybody that day Father please teach us how to live, your way. |
