My Life.

My beginnings, family, and start of my beliefs.

Through my life, I have been many things, both politically and religiously. I grew up in a household that is fairly Conservative, and much more of a 'mixed' Conservative. For example, my father as he describes it is a "Libertarian on virtually everything but foreign policy." He is also non-religious, describing himself as an Agnostic/Atheist (but is really an Apatheist). This is similar to his father and grandfather, both very conservative, yet very couldn't care less about religion. My Mother's side is a little different, grew up as Liberals then had a bit of a "right-shift". My mother's family is also very Catholic, yet my Mother has other influences religiously as well, such as having a slight belief in reincarnation. So where does this all fit me? Growing up I always had an interest in politics and religion. Until I was about 15, I was shifting between strong Catholicism and Agnosticism. I wanted so badly to believe in the faith, but I couldn't go out there and confidently say I believed the teachings. So basically I became an Agnostic, then threw myself in with Buddhists.

Struggles with faith, and finding my political place.

In school my Buddhism and Agnosticism wasn't really well received, however my political views, in many ways were. I was a staunch Conservative, yet was moderate on Social issues and foreign policy, an ideology called "Fusionism." I continued with this term until my Sophomore year, but we'll get to that later. I studied Buddhism, and could never grasp it, later saying "to hell with it." I can't believe in anything that I deem "out of this world", and the strive for world peace I found unrealistic and abandoned Buddhism. With that, I started to rethink my faith again, and as I did this, my political views changed as well. I caught myself sounding more and more like a social liberal, and realized my views were shifting radically to the liberal side on many issues. Studying John Locke, and Voltaire in my Junior year didn't exactly help either. They introduced me to Classical Liberalism, and the religion that rose with it, Deism.

Current Views

Since I studied many Classical Liberal thinkers, I realized I shared many views with them. Especially Ben Franklin. As of now I subscribed myself to Classical Liberalism in economical ideology, as well as the ideology of the social policies. My views are Secular, and very anti-government. I also have subscribed to the PanDeist religious philosophy. It is my personal belief that "The Creator" and the "Universe" are synonymous, and that they are one in the same.
