Monotetra

A mad man bawls. Weary wife sighs.
Just down the hall, a scared child hides.
Bang like a bomb! Little kid cries.
Another dies. Another dies.

Kids in a school, sunny and bright,
Angry lad takes wild delight,
A savage, bringing them their night.
He kills for spite. He kills for spite.

But we need all our guns. Don't we?
Firearms from sea to shining sea
Pile them high, far as eye can see.
They make us free. They make us free.

Note: I was asked to add a quick description of a monotetra. Here it is. :)

The monotetra is a poetic form developed by Michael Walker. Here are the basic rules:

* Comprised of quatrains (four-line stanzas) in tetrameter (four metrical feet) for a total of 8 syllables per line (My second stanza breaks this rule.)

* Each quatrain consists of mono-rhymed lines (so each line in the first stanza has the same type of rhyme, as does each line in the
second stanza, etc.)

* The final line of each stanza repeats the same four syllables

* This poem can be as short as one quatrain and as long as a poet wishes
