Poem based on relationships and separations
DELETION
--------------

Once you told me you loved my smile,
When you looked deep within my eyes,
And even from across so many a mile,
You made me feel so warm and nice.

We talked day in and out with no end,
Our chats were many and had no bounds,
Although not a lover but just a good friend,
And an eternity it did seem going round and round.

The poetry was so natural when it did flow,
Their sheer delight did make these pages glow,
Of all topics, love, politics and the things I do,
There was nothing left out, nothing too taboo.

But promises broken soon after they were made,
And although in silence, my heart did so ache,
Never thought I could be silently replaced,
And the nicest of things said so abruptly erased.

If only you could understand how I feel,
And stop giving reasons we both don’t deserve,
When the truth is faced the wounds will heal,
And only then the eyes that glitter could smile again.
