Chapter 1 Graveyard party
The moon is full and bright as I take a left at the decrepit church. Then a right at Irving Lane and straight from there was the forested area where we met almost every night. I arrived at exactly eleven. I stood and watched my friends waiting. The party would never begin without me. We've been partying here ever since I found this spot two years ago.

Natalie noticed me first. "Right on time." She said as she walked up to me.

"I don't like to keep my adoring fans waiting." I replied. She smirked, gestured for me to follow her and we made our way to the center of the designated dance floor. "Cue the music." Was all I needed to say.

Natalie and I sashayed, shimmied and even tried to waltz once or twice. I took a moment to look around. Everyone was dancing now, enjoying themselves more then the ever have. I couldn't help but smile. A few hours passed quickly but no one was eager to leave just yet. The party officially in full swing. I stopped to chat with everyone. They all seemed excited to talk to me.

When a new person would show up they were welcomed with no judgments. You were to leave your past behind you when you were here. That's how I demanded it be, peaceful.

Natalie pulled over to the side away from the crowd. "I have someone that wants to meet you." She said cheerily.

"They all do" I say. Which may have been a bit cocky. Natalie nodded her head and said, "True, but it's rare that you will want to meet him." She could barely contain her enthusiasm. She then pointed to an attractive guy that was walking towards us.

"Okay, Natalie... Who is that?" I hoped she would tell me quick before he reached us. Then I heard him say, "Hello ladies." He bowed like an old time gentleman.

"Hello." Natalie and I said in unison. Natalie threaded her arm through the guys. "This is Mr. Lane." She tells me. I don't know why I would want to meet this dude. Her eyes grow mischievous.

"Nice to meet you." I say to him.

"You as well. I'm thee Irving Lane, the one you use as directions." He replies matter of fact. That's when I give a shriek of giddiness which I know Natalie is expecting and clap my hands together.

"Oh my goodness! I can't believe it's you!" I wail.

The moon has long clouded over and it starts to rain to no ones worry. You can't feel such things when you are no longer among the living.

"Oh that's just perfect!" A distressed boys voice screams. The music halts and causes mostly everyone to vanish. Curious I walk in the direction the voice had come, leaving Natalie and Irving far behind. I don't understand why my friends left it's not like he would be able to see or hear us. I wonder why this boy is out so late at night.

I find him huddled in a ball near a large gravestone. He was crying and whispering to the grave. I was almost close enough to hear what he was saying when his head jerks up suddenly. His face is bloody, bruised and one eye has swollen shut. He must have been in some kind of fight. I also notice he is around my age; Sixteen. When his eyes meet mine my stomach does a flutter and for the first time since I died... I felt.
